DESCRIPTION

Virgin PTFE is white in colour and a very rigid material. It has a wide range of applications which makes use of its extreme chemical resistance, low coefficient of friction, excellent insulation properties and thermal stability up to 250°C.

 SERVICE

Virtually resistant to all corrosive chemicals – with the exception of fluorine, some flourochemicals and molten alkali metals. Anti-stick and non-flammable. Fatigue resistant (especially in applications which involve flexing or vibrations)

Max recommended temperatures : -200°C to +250°C

These temperature and pressure guides cannot necessarily

be used simultaneously and may not apply to all thicknesses.

APPROVALS/COMPLIANCE

 Non-flammable ASTM D635 & D470 Food Safe FDA 175.105 175.300 176.170 176.180 177.1520 177.2600 177.1550 177.2600 178.3570

WARNING

PTFE has poor resistance to gamma radiation. For example, exposure to 70 megarads radiation reduces tensile strength by 50%.
